Welcome, everyone, to “The Sparks Pod” Brought to you by “The Grateful Artist Podcast”! Stephanie, and Evan Griffith are your host. Today, we’re diving into a fascinating mix of art, inspiration, and the deeper questions we all ask ourselves. The theme for this episode is “Creative Obsession, Odyssey the Movie, and a Funky French Word” and trust me, it’s going to be a wild ride.
We kick off with some deep thoughts from having a Creative Obsession and the toll it can take on our lives. Evan Talks about, Joseph Campbell about what we’re truly seeking. We all crave meaning, but sometimes, what we’re really searching for is to feel fully alive, something that pushes us beyond the surface and into our authentic selves.
We’ll talk about the new movie “Odyssey” a story that’s Odysseus struggles to return home to his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus from the aftermath of the Trojan War.
Evan will introduce us to a French word that caught his fancy, “croqueton”, which means “little sketch” - a perfect metaphor for those spontaneous, fleeting moments of inspiration that often lead to our greatest breakthroughs. I’ll share my insights from the book *Creative Obsession*, which discusses how to find balance in pursuing your passions and how obsession can be both a fuel and a trap.
And finally, we’ll wrap up with stories, lessons, and the sparks that are still burning bright within us. So stay tuned, because the journey to creativity and authenticity is a wild, beautiful adventure.
