Description

When one of my kids tries to boss one of my other kids, I point out that I'm right there and then I ask them, "Who is the father here? Who has the authority?" They begrudgingly say, "you are and you do..." They want to exercise authority over each other, but as their father I have a greater authority than they do.  In a sermon called "A Greater Authority", we look at Matthew 12:1-21.  Here we see the religious leaders trying to tell Jesus (who is God) that what Jesus is doing is wrong. Jesus makes it clear to them that he has a greater authority. We still struggle with authority today. We want to think we are right and tell everyone else they are wrong. We set ourselves and our ideas up as the perfect standard of right and wrong. As we see in this challenging passage, Jesus is the only true judge and we must submit to his authority.

Listening to sermons online can be a great way to keep up with a sermon series if you are unable to attend church but should never be a substitute for regular attendance of a gospel-centered and bible teaching church.
