Description

There is an old saying which was quoted by Charles Spurgeon which states, "Our anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength."  As we near the end of our sermon series called "Focal Point" which looks at all of Scripture, we  look at the book of Revelation in a sermon called "Jesus is Lord of the Past, Present, and Future."  In the book of Revelation, Jesus shows believers that he is sovereign over all time, all history, and all world events.  He who was prophesied about throughout the Old Testament, who gave his life for his people on the cross, and who conquered death through the resurrection was also reigning over their present messed up world and difficult, often dangerous, circumstances.  In order to encourage these struggling believers, Christ also gives them a picture of the future to show that he already has a plan which is unshakeable.  We need this courage still today.  We need to have faith that Jesus holds our past, present, and future so that we are not being emptied of our strength to trust and follow him today.

Listening to sermons online can be a great way to keep up with a sermon series if you are unable to attend church but should never be a substitute for regular attendance of a gospel-centered and bible teaching church.
