When a match is struck and tossed into kindling we expect something to happen. The flame should grow. The charcoal or wood should burn and change. Hebrews 13:1-6 builds on chapter 12 which ended with the idea of understanding who we are as God's people saved by Jesus Christ, part of God's kingdom and brought into the presence of a Holy God. Our lives are changed by this reality. We are touched by God's saving grace which makes us holy and our lives, like kindling ignited by a burning match, are forever changed.
