Imagine falling into a hole and needing to be rescued. For hours you wait until finally someone finds you and is able to get you out. Would you then, after being rescued, climb right back into the hole? This is the situation so many people face when we are saved by Jesus. We know he sets us free. We know he has done everything necessary for our salvation. Yet so often we return to old ways of thinking. We try to fix our own lives. We try to make ourselves righteous when only Christ can do that. We live with guilt and artificial laws when Christ has set us free! We are brought out of the hole of trying to save ourselves and make ourselves righteous, but then we try to climb right back into that same hole! In this sermon, called "Rescued by Christ", we look at Galatians 2:15-21 and we see how Paul instructs the Galatians about this same problem.
