We were created to glorify God by trusting Him and living in the blessings He provides, but it is easy for us to start trusting in ourselves or in the world around us. We look for things that will give us protection, joy, satisfaction, or a sense of control. This sermon looks primarily at Genesis 11:1-9 where we learn about the Tower of Babel. Here we see God's loving, but difficult, response to our efforts to substitute anything for Him. God doesn't want us to settle for something else because His plan for us is absolutely amazing.
