We continue our "Focal Point" sermon series on the whole Bible by looking at another key theme in the New Testament letters. In a sermon called "The Church and the World" we look at the difficult mission of being Christians who are called to be different from the world yet sent into the world for the cause of the gospel. At the core of this topic is the question "What should the church look like in the world today?" Bad answers to this question have led Christians throughout history to lose what it means to be the church in their desire to be relatable and understandable to their culture. Yet we certainly want the world to see and know Jesus. We want to be able to communicate the truth of the gospel to our culture today. So what does it mean to be the church in the world today? In this sermon we wrestle with this important question as we seek God's wisdom from the letters of the New Testament.
