Have you ever had a trip that didn't go quite as planned? Missed flights, lost baggage, cars that break down, extreme weather, or wrong turns can all add up to a very difficult journey. Yet these sometimes make for the best stories to tell later. We talk about how we got through the tough times and what we learned along the way. As we continue our "Focal Point" sermon series looking at the big story of Scripture, we look at Abraham and some of his descendants (often called the patriarchs) in Genesis chapters 12-50. Here we see generation after generation face great difficulty along the journey of following God's plans. Faith is not easy and we often face difficulties even as we trust God. In a sermon called "The Difficult Journey of Faith," we look at how Abraham and his first few descendants struggled to trust God in difficult situations.
