Have you ever heard the phrase "be careful what you wish for"? In this sermon we look at two of the most famous kings in the Old Testament - King Saul and King David. The people wanted a king. They wanted a king like the nations around them: someone impressive who would bring them together. God gave them what they wanted in King Saul. He was a tall man and a mighty warrior. He led the people in battle. There was just one problem... Saul lived in fear. He feared losing the people's approval and he feared losing his position of importance. His heart was pulled in a certain direction because he lived in fear. After Saul came King David. God calls David "a man after my own heart" (Acts 13:22). We see that David's heart was driven by faith in God. He trusted God to do what God had promised. This sermon is called "The Direction of a Heart" and we look at the importance of whether our heart is directed by fear or faith.

Listening to sermons online can be a great way to keep up with a sermon series if you are unable to attend church but should never be a substitute for regular attendance of a gospel-centered and bible teaching church.
