In Luke 2:10 an angel appears to shepherds and says "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people." We could use a heavenly messenger proclaiming some good news that will cause great joy for all the people today! What's amazing, though, is that the news announced by that angel so long ago and the event the angel spoke about - the birth of Jesus - is still good news that causes great joy! This sermon was preached in May, on Mother's Day, but is a continuation of the "Joy in Christ" sermon series and looks at what this angel said and why this news causes great joy for us still today.
