We are starting a new sermon series called "The King Has Come: the Gospel of Matthew". It is exciting to be studying the gospel of Matthew because of the way Matthew presents Jesus as our Messiah, King, who has come to fulfill all of God's plans which are declared in the Old Testament. Throughout the series we will look at what it means that Jesus is our King, what it means to live in His kingdom and how Jesus fulfills the Old Testament. We will also be challenged by the ways people respond to Jesus in Matthew. We will likely see ourselves in each of the different responses, as sometimes we doubt and question and other times we respond with great faith. Finally, we will see what it means to be a disciple, or a follower of Christ. This sermon is simply called "The King Has Come" and will serve as an overview and introduction to this new sermon series on the gospel of Matthew.
