Why do some people accept the gospel and others don't? In this sermon, called "The Parable of the Soils", we will look at Matthew 13:1-23 where Jesus talks about this difficult issue. Jesus talks about God's amazing grace in spreading the truth of the gospel to all different people and the difficult reality that not all accept the gospel. He also talks about God's sovereignty and people's choice to respond to the gospel without any hint of contradiction between these two ideas. We are confronted with the need to test our own hearts, the call to take the gospel to others, and the importance of trusting God in all of this.
