We continue our sermon series on the Gospel of Matthew called "The King Has Come". This sermon is called "Threatened by Jesus" and looks at Matthew chapter 2. In this chapter we see the Magi who came to worship Jesus and we also see King Herod who wanted to kill Jesus. Herod's way of life was threatened by the birth of Jesus. I think we all struggle with feeling threatened by Jesus. He threatens what we consider normal. He threatens what we want to do and what we think will make us happy or comfortable. We also look at some of the difficult things Joseph and Mary had to go through as they followed God's will for their family and how we face the threat of difficult things today in our lives as we trust in Christ.
