The goal is not to only think positive thoughts or only feel positive emotion. Our thoughts and emotions are guidance systems for us to live a more aligned and authentic life, so the "negative" emotion we experience is actually guiding you to what is more aligned.
The problem is when we become consumed by our thoughts and identify as them, instead of the thinker of them.
