We are so involved and attached to our way of thinking that we sometimes forget that our thoughts are not actual TRUTH.

If you forget this, it can cause a lot of unnecessary suffering for you.
You may think that other people should behave the way you expect and think is acceptable.
That what you think about something or someone is 100% the truth, and that it can't be any other way.
That everything going on in your head is real.

These thoughts are harmful. Fortunately we have the ability to think about our thoughts and we can step back and ask ourselves, "is what I'm thinking really true, useful or important?"
And a lot of times the answer is no.
