John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
This verse is just a reminder of what we have been told and know to be true from our daily living. In this life we will have trouble. Over the past couple of weeks, few people have been spending much time talking about the subject that stole the headlines for the past 2 years, Covid. Now, with just a short passing of time and a couple of decisions made, the world is talking about the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine. The civilians of Ukraine are fighting for their freedom as well as their life as they know it.
While this event may seem thousands of miles away from us living in the United States, the impact of this event is felt it in our personal life. On many different levels we as Americans are concerned about the turn of events in Europe. Not only are we watching good and innocent people fight for their freedom, we are seeing the rest of the world impacted by economic sanctions and energy pressures that undoubtedly could prompt a full blown world war.
This is a serious matter that our leaders and the leaders of the world are consumed with and we should all be taking note as to what our part is in the matter. In this episode of Strong Dads, Kyle and Hutch discuss what we as Strong Dads can and should be doing in our homes. We have allowed our country to seek a level of divisiveness that only compares to the times of the Civil War. We have lost our way on many different fronts as we fight for personal desires and ways of life only to lose the vision that would best serve the entire body. This fragmentation has put us in a position of weakness on the world front. How can we be prepared to defend ourselves or the freedom of others when we are fighting among ourselves?
Unity comes through the intentional effort to work for the good of the common group. As much as we would love every person to be happy and have all their desires, we know that we must first establish and protect the good of the general population. As it has been said many times, freedom is not free. We must pay for it through our sacrifice for the betterment of all.
Over the past 50 years we have been so blessed with the comforts afforded us by the work of generations before that we have forgotten the idea of sacrifice for the good of all. It is time for us to die to our selfish desires and live for the freedom granted to us by God. We must protect our rights to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!
Every man is challenged to begin their work in their homes. Teaching your children what freedom is through the word of God. Practicing sacrificial love to our families so that they too will one day live this truth and pass it on to the next generation. We owe our forefathers a debt of gratitude for their understanding and protection of truth. Will we be able to say that our grandchildren will owe us a debt of gratitude for our efforts? Understand that this is not a fight against flesh and blood, but against the evil one. The one that would love for us to believe the lies of our selfish desires.
