The absolute fact about prayer and fasting is that they produce greater intimacy with God. It’s important to note and be reminded that prayer does not save you and fasting does not save you, and might I add, since today we are speaking about “Generosity,” Generosity, though greatly appreciated does not save you. All of these DO enhance the experience that we share with our Heavenly Father according to the scriptures. They enhance the experience because they cause us to grow in Godly humility. If you are growing in Godly (spiritual) humility, then you are growing in faith.
