In this passage, Peter shows us how we are to live as servants in the home. He applies this call to both wives and husbands in their respective roles. What he is calling for is submission within the institution of marriage in such a way that points each other and the world to Jesus and tells the truth about the gospel. He is showing us how to live in the home as chosen strangers on a journey between two worlds.

I. Wives: live in such a way that is rooted in hope and points to Jesus (3:1-6)
a.Submit for the sake of the gospel. (1-2)
b.Prioritize inward beauty. (3-4)

II. Husbands: live in such a way that is rooted in grace and points to Jesus (3:7)
a.Live with understanding. (7a)
