What if I told you that you DO NOT have to be a role-model for anyone when you Cosplay?
Would you agree with me, or disagree? Do you even care about what people think of you at the conventions you attend with your friends?
I believe that you do. This is one of the toughest spots for a Cosplayer - getting beyond starting and attending and into a place of influence where there are expectations for both the quality of your work, and the appearance of you inside and outside of the convention space.
Kids look up to the characters you portray. Adults want their photos with you. Media wants your opinion - they want to know where you got your costume, if you made it, how you made it, why you made it, and if you realize that you look...just...like...
So - what do you do? And what do you believe has to take place? Are there rules to what we do for our hobbies and in our free time? Does it have to be a contest? So many questions, and so much to talk about in this episode!
