Welcome back HoCS fans! After a series on Instagram, I thought it would be a good time to talk about the overall picture of influencer marketing.

More often now, it's becoming part of a marketing mix for companies large and small to reach out to individuals online and ask them to promote products and services in exchange (often) for that product or service.

Sometimes it's attending a Con - and that venue is reaching out to you - a lot of conventions have a section where Cosplayers can be voted into attending the show for free because it brings in more people to the convention.  It's all about your presentation skills and marketing.

So, what can you do in the beginning? I discuss many of the feelings and the overall thoughts around influencer marketing and building a social following. It's interesting to sees Cosplayers branching out into different markets, and presenting different products on their feed.  More interesting to me is any collaborative efforts made inside the industry itself - artists, animators, makers, vendors and of course, the media.  All vying for more attention given the size of the industry - $600 million in Cons Nationwide alone.
