Do I want to be an actor – no, not really. There’s a lot of rejection and politics. Do I want to create films, art, drama, and see where Cosplayers can fit into that mix – I sure do. But for fun and as part of a body of work that builds other skills.
Where do Cosplayers fit when it comes to acting. Some Cosplayers are actors. Costume design and playing a part go hand-in-hand. Cosplay is character depiction. Many go to TikTok or Reels and create skits of their favorite fan films – depending on the audio they can find from those scenes.
The acting is fun, and can help improve presentation skills, which I definitely want to do. Camera work is part of putting together photo shoots, and much of the content we share online, so why not have some fun collaborating, acting out some of our favorite scenes, moments, and as some of our favorite characters.
