If you are a maker, or a Cosplay creator/influencer, consider YouTube even if you are getting buried on the platform. For me and my little channel, it’s a body of work being developed to lead to other things – larger platforms and a community where YouTubers in this space can help each other grow and eventually go beyond breaking even with a channel – inside or outside of Cosplay.
It’s becoming more and more prevalent that you need to create and scale at an ever-increasing level of production. Especially in Cosplay which is a very visual niche. It is super niche on YouTube, so if you’re thinking about starting a channel, or growing a channel – you’re in a good spot. Making money is the tough part.
We put out a lot of content as small creators (at least, we think we do), but the overall reach is near zero in some cases. We can’t get into this space and compete with large platforms. Working your way to money on YouTube is tough, but it’s possible.
