Know that what you’re doing, going to do, thinking about doing – probably has already been done or is being done somewhere. There are rare occasions when you can set up something completely new or different, but even being new and different has been done a lot.
Think of Cosplay as a conversation that’s been going on – many people talking. You join that conversation and add to that conversation. Now that conversation shifts and becomes something new and different because you’ve joined it.
My tip – don’t let the thought of ‘it’s already been done’ stop you from doing it. So what if it has? Have you done it yet?
If the answer is no – then it’s going to be different. No one has seen you do it. Your spin, your version, what you want to do with it.
That’s a good way to look at it. Looking to what everyone else is doing and then saying – I should do that or I should not do this because no one else is – may not be the best ways to approach your cosplay.
