What are we willing to spend, and what lengths are we willing to go to in order to gain visibility and traction in Cosplay Online? Whatever it is, it will be expensive.
Even if you make the Cosplays yourself, it's still a high cost industry with low returns for the majority. We can gain followers, but likes don't pay bills. Comments don't afford more content and subscribers don't offer us a sure way to create "passive" income with a self-brand.
Just getting into a fandom these days seems to require a subscription to one or more streaming services, ongoing purchases, and the many dollars you spend on creating the cosplay and editing the content that you post. It's a lot. It's hundreds, if not thousands of dollars with little return. Is it even making you happy anymore, or is it just pushing to keep up?
We'll be bringing you content Monday thru Friday every week from now until C2E2 to talk about coming together with cosplay an in fandoms, the costs, the marketing & business behind what you do (and what we do), and of course, we'll have many stories from Cosplayers this season to share with you everything Cosplay from their experience.
Really looking forward to sharing all of this with you over the next few months. Really looking forward to the next Phase of content coming to the show and the larger projects underway!
