The end of Cons as we know them? Or the end of Conventions entirely?
What will we do if Cons do not return and will Cosplay change or will the focus move from venue to virtual?
I talked a little about virtual cons earlier in the week, but the other side of that is how to adjust to what could be a permanent shift away from Conventions.
There are a lot of options, but the virtual venues will be very different from what’s been built to create the massive industry that Cosplay is a part of – Cosplayers could have a more even field in the virtual space and companies working with venues could begin to reach out to Cosplayers – we could see more recognition for Cosplayers from the Studios and companies that use the Cons as a means for marketing.
