Some may disagree with the subject of this Podcast and say – these are actually good ways to make money. They are ways to make money online, but I’ll tell you first what I believe is the best way to do it.
Or really - today we're taking about how to avoid some suggested ways to make money in Cosplay that don't always work out too well.
Amazon wish lists do not really pay you, and any site where it’s just set up as donations may also not be the best method – many users do not support for very long on tier platforms.
Other platforms with monthly fees can also be discouraging if there’s not much activity or incentive
Product and service offerings are the best way to go!
You also need to be able to scale, and you have to find out where that is - we'll get into this a little bit here today.
Bringing a following over to another site can work – I find that there’s diminishing returns if you try to move people from platform to platform to platform – not much incentive not to have all the options in one space
Have a website – build something that you can own and control yourself – not at the mercy of the app, which also usually take large % of your margins
Physical set ups may also not be a very lucrative way to make money for your Cosplays – foot traffic can bring people in, but the cost of set ups and then moving everything physically to another location, plus the foot traffic and your following are completely different – not necessarily the same targets, or ideal clients.
