I honestly lack the energy to be an actor or performer of any kind.
But theater does play into Cosplay – it’s where many of us go after being theater geeks in high school and college and where we meet people with similar interests – or at least…try to meet people with similar interests – we can at least follow people with similar interests, like their photos, and wish we were as good – oh…wait that’s exactly what we’re not supposed to do.
Anyway – theatrics have always been something I’ve enjoyed. I like having an audience, and putting on a show. Having done a dozen or so performances over time – it’s demanding, but I always felt comfortable on stage – it was an ultimate escape, even if it was lonely and isolating, and there were always a litany of catty / salty people who wanted your role and thought you were terrible in it. That aside – I liked doing it.
