We don’t need any prophet to tell us we are in a dark season. It is a time the Prophet Isaiah prophesied about thousands of years ago - that “darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the people” - Isa. 60:2.
The darkness of Corona Virus has taken over the entire world in the last four months. It has left many great nations and world leaders perplexed, dazed, confused and horrified.
The days we are in are really dark days!
The hope of a cure doesn't seem in sight.
Many are even warning that we should not take the vaccine that may come out soon because of the fear that it is invented to kill more people than the virus itself. The world is totally confused and does not know what to do.
The Big question is, are we going to survive these seeming unending dark days?
Our best option is to return to the Almighty God and trust Him to help us through this season - Hos.6:1-3.
To this end, I will like to share with you some Biblical tips to surviving these dark days. These are:
- Repent of the bad choices we have made in time past - V.21. See where our bad choices have led us. God gave us a beautiful word, but we have messed it up with our own hands. We have abandoned the Rock of ages and have hewn for ourselves cisterns that cannot hold water. We actually need a National day of mourning! Jonah 3:6-10. Unfortunately, our leaders still cannot get it! How have we become so unsound as not to know that God is not happy with us? Oh that this prodigal world would come quickly to her senses. God will surely forgive us if we would repent of our sins!
- Avoid making more bad choices during this season - V.21. It would be foolhardy to continue to make more bad choices in these dark days. This is not time to fool around. It is not time to add sin to sin. It is not time to misbehave and continue with worldly passions. It is time to repent and stay repentant and pure! To our leaders, you need to lean on God for divine wisdom! You need to be discrete about where you go for help at this time. You need to be discrete about whom you go to for help at this time. For instance, why do we need those doctors and supplies coming from China? Why is everything China? Has China become our God? Can’t we think again? Can’t we look inward and to God for our salvation? It is better we stay at home and be safe rather than go outside and expose the Nation to more danger. Our Medical Personnel are already doing a great job and we should continue to pray for them. We don’t need help from China at this time please!
- Listen to good counsel - V.21, 31. Especially to our leaders. This is not time to gamble with the lives of millions tied to your leadership. Seek counsel especially from older and genuine men of God at this time. Note the role Paul played. They would have saved themselves so much losses if they had listened. Don’t say the “Pauls” lack experience and turn your backs on them. We are dealing with a global challenge that requires Medical and Divine solution!
