Heredity again is brought to the forefront, when Jesus' family comes to take control of their "out of his mind" brother. What kind of experience will safeguard you from not listening to God. Mary had Gabriel, prophets speaking at his dedication and the Magi visiting, and yet he is still out of his mind. Israel took almost 3 days after the Exodus' Red Sea experience before they complained...maybe it isn't experiences that we need to hold faith, but faith to understand experiences.
So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now.
