Description

What do you reach for when life hurts and you just need the pain to stop? Sometimes we try to numb it. Distract ourselves from it. Carry it alone. We look for anything that will give us a little peace. But what happens when the pain is still there afterward?

In 1 Samuel 1:1–18, Hannah is carrying years of disappointment, grief, mistreatment, and unanswered prayer. Instead of hiding what hurts, she brings it honestly before God and pours out her heart in prayer.

And something remarkable happens: Hannah leaves differently even though her circumstances haven't changed yet.

In this Christian sermon, Pastor Jason explores Hannah's prayer, coping with pain, alcohol and emotional escape, unanswered prayer, and finding peace with God in difficult circumstances.

Maybe you're hurting. Maybe you're new to faith and aren't sure how to pray. Maybe you've been following Jesus for a while but you're exhausted from carrying something that hasn't gotten better.

You don't need perfect words. You don't need to pretend you're okay. Bring God what's actually in your heart. Pour it out.
