"That's the fundamental first step in Christianity that you have to understand: that you are broken! You don't deserve good things. And the Gospel is that God gives you grace, and give you the best thing. Namely, His Son... So when we operate out of this sense of 'I've earned', it is in direct opposition to the reality that you have earned hell. And you cannot come to this understanding that you have earned hell, and yet still sit in your entitlement."
