"I think we’ve lived our lives as if God has told us, ‘make yourself at home’, but what He’s really saying is, “I am your home”. He’s not inviting us to get comfortable for a while. He’s inviting us to hang up pictures on the wall, kick our shoes off, raid the snack cabinet, sporadically forget to put down the toilet seat, and grab the remote. God isn’t saying ‘I’m a father figure’, He’s saying “I am your father”. You’re not like a son to me, you ARE my son. You are my daughter. There’s full, 100% access to God as your Father."
