Genesis 12 is a peak in the Bible on which we can stand and survey all that is significant. As we look back, we see the creation, then see it fractured by sin. That eventually leads to the downward spiral of sin, which results in murder, the flood of judgment, and the tower of Babel showing that people hadn’t learned their lesson. What will God do? Will he let man destroy everything? Genesis 12 shows us God’s response, which is to call a man and give him a promise of a land and a family that will become a great nation through which God will bless the world.
