Piper and Michael Tokaruk are joined by Adele Einhorn to talk about the Saratoga Horse Shows series and filmmaker Ashley Avis to talk about her upcoming documentary, WILD BEAUTY: Mustang Spirit of the West. Brought to you by Taylor, Harris Insurance Services. Listen in!
- Hosts: Piper Klemm of The Plaid Horse and Michael Tokaruk
- Guest: Adele Einhorn grew up in upstate New York and began riding at the age 7. Adele rode competitively as a junior and throughout college but then took a break from the sport while pursuing several other interests. Adele earned a Master’s Degree in Education and taught for several years. Later, Adele worked as an international yacht racing photographer and owned a catering company that provisioned sailing yachts for racing. Adele then moved to Denmark where she owned a restaurant for almost 10 years. When Adele moved back to the States, she found herself back in the horse world working for Saratoga Polo and later for Skidmore College. Adele began riding and competing again, and in 1998, she started the Saratoga Classic Horse Shows. Now 25 years later, Adele is a partner in Southbound Saratoga Management Group that operates eight weeks of horse shows at Saratoga’s new venue, White Hollow Farm in Stillwater, New York.
- Guest: Ashley Avis is an award winning filmmaker, best known for writing and directing Disney's BLACK BEAUTY starring Oscar winner Kate Winslet and Twilight's Mackenize Foy. A longtime equestrian, Ashley is an avid advocate for wild horses, and recently launched The Wild Beauty Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to illuminating issues horses face through film, advocacy, education, and illumination. Ashley's four year long documentary journey, WILD BEAUTY: Mustang Spirit of the West, debuts this September on the festival circuit.

Thank you so much for joining us today on the Plaidcast. This podcast is a labor of love, and every single episode exists because of this incredible community of riders, trainers, barn managers, parents, and horse lovers who show up in the barn, in the ring, and right here with us.
At The Plaid Horse, our commitment goes far beyond the show ring. We believe deeply in the power of literacy and education and that every rider, at every level, deserves access to knowledge, stories, and ideas that make them a better horseperson and a better human being. Reading matters. Learning matters. And the stories we tell each other in this sport matter more than we sometimes realize.
Whether you are a junior rider picking up your first copy of The Plaid Horse Magazine, a professional trainer looking for inspiration, or someone who simply loves horses and everything this world stands for then this community is for you. You belong here.
We build this together. Every article, every episode, every conversation is an opportunity to learn something new, to feel less alone in the challenges of this sport, and to be reminded of why we fell in love with horses in the first place.
Until next time, keep reading, keep learning, keep riding, and remember that the horse world is better when we build it together. I will see you at the ring!
