Description

This week on the #wednesdaywellbeing show I'm chatting with Sian Evans from Nurtured Living. We speak about how we can live well and recover from trauma by falling in love with ourselves.

I have heard the story countless times.

A client comes in confused, hurt, and disheartened, wondering what happened to the fairytale romance, that perfect job with the great boss or that ongoing challenge with a family member. It may have started off great perhaps a prince charming, soulmate, supportive, person of your dreams, swept you off your feet, attentive, charismatic, so honest and commited.  Then things change!

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) like most mental health or personality disorders, isn’t black and white.

There are often multiple complications.  Maybe you no longer feel like the person you used to be. Perhaps you feel more anxious and less confident than you used to be, often wondering if you’re being too sensitive. You feel like everything you do is wrong and maybe even question your own sanity.

This week we discuss what NPD is, how you spot it, and what you do. We outline unacceptable behaviors and reactions in the context of a loving, equitable partnership and discuss how you can heal and become stronger as a result of the negative experiences you've had.
