Sometimes people think they have a special in with God. Perhaps their church affiliation or service to God has put them in a special club where they are exempt from any kind of judgment, and even worse, they have the right to judge others.
Paul is going to show the Jewish people that their natural birth is not what brings them closer to God but the good news is that God is kind and patient toward all people.
