When the teachers of Jesus' day taught, they read from the law. The Law was all deeds done or undone. But hen Jesus came on the scene, He brought people beyond their deeds and spoke about the heart. If a deed was bad, He said the thought b ehind it was just as bad. he deals with the heart because we live life from the heart. Our words and deeds originate in the heart so He wanted to make our hearts as pure as possible.
