They had integrity, which means they did the right thing, even when it was hard. Even though Naomi told Ruth to participate in an odd custom, Ruth trusted Naomi’s care for her and did what she asked. Throughout the interaction between Ruth and Boaz, Ruth’s integrity is brought up and praised. Ruth knew she could trust Naomi because Naomi wanted the best for her. And she knew she could trust Boaz because he had proven to be a man of impressive character to her personally, and to the whole town.
