Angry & Opportunistic… and Loved. James and John were known as the “Sons of Thunder.” Something went wrong, they get fed up quickly, they’d get angry easily, and then swing big on making it right. Kind of ironic when we keep using our anger to make the world a better place. Equally ironic that these two sought a higher seat selfishly - a seat reserved for the greatest servant of all (says Jesus). For as often as these two were stuck doing the exact opposite of God’s plan - Jesus still called these ordinary Joes, and used one of them to write abundantly on love.
