Scripture Meditation: Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Action Steps:
Sometime today, or as soon as you’re able, ask your family one of these questions. 

• Have you ever wanted to help someone but felt you didn’t have time?
• How can we create margin to allow for those beautiful interruptions?

Here are some examples that my family and I have tried and are planning on doing this year to reach those around us:

• Go on regular walks in your neighborhood. Say hi from afar and find a way to stir up conversation if everyone feels comfortable.
• Try dropping off sweets to a neighbor just to let them know you care. A few weeks ago, I gave some desserts to my neighbor who recently lost a loved one. I got a chance to pray for him and his family.
• Send a text or call a friend to just ask them how they’re doing. No favors, no invites, no agenda - just see how they’re doing.
