Compassion Canyon

Proverbs 15:19

I am going to be a person of compassion

Compassion / Splagchnizmai: to be moved in ones bowels, hence to be moved with compassion. A visceral gut wrenching emotional response that is so strong that we are physically moved to action.

(The bowels were thought to be the seat of love and pity)

Matthew 20:34 Jesus moved with compassion

Mark 6:33-34 Jesus had compassion

Each time Jesus was moved - he acted.

If there is not action attached to your compassion then it’s not real #gas

if you don’t act….

You don’t care.

Love God AND love people

The Good Samaritan

You will always have an excuse to justify not getting involved.

Reasons we don’t help:

  1.   We're more obsessed with ourselves.
  2.   Overwhelming exposure to suffering desensitizes us.
  3.   Lack of personal interaction makes it easier not to care.

True compassion looks like:

  1. Inconvenience

True compassion inconveniences you.

What would happen if all the Christian’s decided to be available for God to interrupt them?

Look for the Divine Interruption today!!

⭐️Living your life on call for God

Can God trust you to send you across someone’s path?

  1. It’s gonna cost you something

The Samaritan gave two days wages - and took on the responsibility for anymore.

We will do anything short of sin to reach people who don’t know Christ.

  1. Changes lives

Be generous for Jesus not others

God break my heart for what breaks yours.

Go and do likewise
