Not Today Satan
Week 1
The Devil
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:10
There is a spiritual war against you.
Our enemy is destructive
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
Our enemy is deceptive
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14
Our enemy is determined
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44
1. Wake up.
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8
2. Size up.
But he said to me, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness.”: therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
My greatest strength is found at the point of my greatest surrender.
3. Suit up.
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. Ephesians 6:11-13
4. Team up.
A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
The first problem in the bible wasn’t sin it was solitude.
