I received several requests and questions from my listeners about schedules and routines so guess what we will be chatting about today. Of course, I will start with a question.
Have you ever wondered where the day went? Are you just waking up late and allowing the day to take you wherever you please? Or perhaps, you have to please someone else’s agenda.
Or, have you ever looked back on the day, not remembering what you did and then beat yourself up because you didn’t accomplish enough?
This is a great topic since we are still in the Love Month of February which is Self-Care and Self-Love Month. If you are not loving yourself enough that tells me you may not have a powerful routine to keep you on track.
It’s like getting in the car heading to a destination you have never been. If you don’t have a map before you start your day, how do you know where you are going?
So for you listeners that requested this, thank you.
Here is what I know……Routine is the Sign of An Ambitious Individual. The actual quote by W.H. Auden is…."Routine, in an intelligent man, is the sign of ambition”. I hope you don’t mind but I had to take liberty with the quote and change it up a bit!
Good Routines help us build good habits. Habits are like rubber bands: they pull you back to what you've done… just like resilience allows you to bounce back. Routines and habits do same. When things go badly, you've got to break the old rubber band and get a good new one so you can snap back into a good routine.
Good Routines are also like road signs and …..they keep us going in the right direction and keep us on track in getting to our destination. Have you ever veered off the main road or took a wrong turn and found yourself lost for hours?
If you have a routine that you follow you become more productive and when you are more productive I bet you feel great….as you should.
Listen in for some ideas on building your own daily routine.
