🔥 THE ALL THINGS BMX SHOW — HOLLY DUNN: MOTO TWO 🔥
She’s back!
This week, Holly Dunn returns to the All Things BMX Show, and since we already covered a lot of her story the first time around, we’re calling this one MOTO TWO.
Holly first joined us back in July 2024, so this time we're picking up where we left off, catching up on what she's been doing, talking BMX then versus BMX now, and probably heading down a few rabbit holes along the way. Podcast Republic
Holly's BMX story goes all the way back to the early 1980s. She has previously talked about beginning around 1982 in Colorado, following her brother Chad into racing and running her first race at Boothill BMX before her family moved to Arizona. BMX Oregon
We're going to talk about what it was like being a girl racing BMX during that era, the riders and personalities she remembers, the bikes, tracks and culture that made old-school BMX what it was—and how much of that culture still exists today.
But Holly isn't just somebody telling stories about what BMX used to be.
She's still part of it.
In fact, results from the 2024 Gold Cup Final Southwest #2 show Holly taking the win in 51–55 Women Cruiser, representing Factory Taco Tuesday. BMX Insights
So, yes... we're absolutely getting into Taco Tuesday, the origin of “Taco Rita,” racing as an adult, why people walk away from BMX and somehow end up back behind a starting gate, and what keeps this ridiculous little 20-inch bicycle sport in your blood decades later.
We'll also get Holly's perspective on women in BMX, how opportunities for female racers have changed since her early days, old-school versus modern BMX culture, today's tracks and bikes, the BMX community, and some stories we probably didn't get to during Moto One.
And knowing Holly, there's a pretty good chance this conversation is going somewhere we didn't plan.
That's usually when the best stories happen.
The ATB Krew is coming to you from “The Ethan Clark” Studios in Hartland, Michigan, brought to you by the great people at Motor City Harley-Davidson.
