As autumn approached, Fotografiska Tallinn turned its gaze to the stars with the major exhibition SPACE – A Visual Journey. In this episode, you will meet one of the featured artists, Petri Eskelinen.
The video works of Finnish artist Petri Eskelinen play on the border between science fiction and scientific fact, artistically highlighting a current issue in space research: if we want to go into space, we must take plants with us and figure out how to grow them in zero gravity.
SPACE – A Visual Journey, group exhibition, September 13 – January 18
The exhibition SPACE – A Visual Journey explores the celestial frontier where artistic expression and scientific inquiry meet, and captures the grandeur of the cosmos through the eyes of astronomers and the interpretive visions of artists alike. Through works by 14 different artists, we encounter questions about Earth, space, and our identities – who we are in the face of eternity, and who has the right to dream about the future?
The podcast is hosted by Fotografiska guide Elo Aun.
The podcast is recorded in September 2025.
