Pursuit of Possessions vs. His Presence
The way we view money reveals where we place our attention and affections. Do we keep it neatly separated from God, do we pursue it as if it were our god, or do we give God access to our finances? This is important to determine because it involves our identity. Wherever our passions go, our identity goes. Do you invest for the here and now or for eternity? Jesus commands us to store our treasures up in Heaven, but how do we do this? One way is to serve those who cannot pay us back and see lives transformed, but first we must yield our resources to God and respond to His invitation by showing up. Good intentions are not enough. When we give to those who cannot pay us back, it is not an inconvenience but an investment and a fulfilled life.
