In Every Season
Sunday October 21, 2018
“In Jesus’ name, by the power of the blood shed on the cross, by the authority of the scriptures, I declare the rest of this year to be filled with an increased awareness of God’s presence and a new level of passion for God in worship…personally and corporately…an increase in love for my God and others… and I declare in faith…..my soul will follow hard after you Lord.”
Each person in the congregation is an atmosphere setter and is critical to the atmosphere of the church service…
The fountain of worship rises out of a group of believers who are experiencing and responding to God. We are touched by His presence, His love, forgiveness grace and power. We become hungry for Him. We are eager to know Him and serve Him. This stirring creates in us a response.
Psalm 63:1-2 O God, you are my God, and I long for you. My whole being desires you; like a dry, worn-out, and waterless land, my soul is thirsty for you. Let me see you in the sanctuary; let me see how mighty and glorious you are. (Good News Translation)
Message… “God—you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry and weary deserts. So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory.”
Worship is pouring out our heart and soul with passionate intensity. It’s not just theology and philosophy. It’s about exchanging the deepest feelings of our hearts and minds in a Biblical manner.
Releasing feelings that cannot be put into words but can only be expressed in worship.
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” - Psalms 34:1
II Samuel 12:18-20NKJV
“Then on the seventh day it came to pass that the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead. For they said, “Indeed, while the child was alive, we spoke to him, and he would not heed our voice. How can we tell him that the child is dead? He may do some harm!” When David saw that his servants were whispering, David perceived that the child was dead. Therefore David said to his servants, “Is the child dead?” And they said, “He is dead.” So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.”
Worshipping during the hard seasons is our way of saying I have faith in God...it expresses confidence that God is who He says He is no matter what is happening...
The spirit of discouragement, depression, heaviness, failure, despair cannot live in the atmosphere of praise and worship. Worship brings the consciousness of the presence of God wi
