Headaches. Haven't you Suffered Enough?

I often wonder why people with chronic headaches continue to take medications that are not curing the headache. Are headaches something you have to learn to live with? I think that the headache sufferer would do better by stepping outside the "Big Pharma Mentality" and seek alternatives that may just help. There is no guarantee that any one alternative treatment is going to help the headache sufferer, the question here is what do you have to lose by trying something different?
If your medications worked why do your headaches keep coming back? Any treatment that doesn't cure is called palliative. When your head is pounding, sure it makes sense to take something to relieve the pain. I wouldn't call this a cure its to stop the pain. What if there was a way to prevent the headache in the first place? I am here to tell you that many different headaches can be helped by a chiropractor. Yes, this may come across as self-serving. I am basing this in 30 years of treating all kinds of headaches, migraine, cluster, sinus, occipital to name a few.
I started to use a laser to treat really tough migraine headaches. I use an intranasal laser to stimulate the sphenopalatine ganglion which is a group of nerve cells that is linked to the trigeminal nerve, the main nerve involved in migraine headaches. The SPG, located behind the nose, carries information about sensation, including pain, and also plays a role in autonomic functions, such as tearing and nasal congestion. Often I hear that I have a sinus headache, how would you know if it is going to work if you don't try it?
What chiropractors look for are called subluxations. This is when a bone puts pressure onto nerves blocking the brain's ability to communicate, often a painful experience. A good chiropractic adjustment is safe, comfortable, and effective. Many headache cases we see have subluxations in the base of the skull at an area called the Atlanto-Occipital joint. If you are subluxated here there is increased pressure on the brain stem. Let me tell you, pressure on the brainstem can definitely cause headaches. Your neurologist is not trained to treat subluxations. Would you rather live with headaches or try something out of the pharmacological realm?
You might be afraid to go to a chiropractor for headaches.
