Most of us want total freedom to whatever we want whenever we want, but every good parent knows that it isn't loving to let your kids do anything. Love is constraining. Love will say "no" for the best of the person involved even if they may find it hurtful in the moment. God very often tells us, "no," but that isn't a sign of neglect. It's a sign of love.
