Mike, like a lot of us, waited until he got some bad news to start working out.  His doctor was watching his cholesterol levels sky rocket and told him that he needed to change his lifestyle before it was too late.  That coupled with losing family members to cardiovascular disease, really made him think.

So why does that light spark for some and not others?
Some perhaps just don't believe it or maybe "seeing really is believing" .  That French fry definitely won't kill you, but put that together with a poor lifestyle and things will turn bleak.  Maybe the issue is that it is a slow process, so not degenerating quickly, makes you believe it isn't true.

What does taking care of the whole person mean?
Mike talks about how they take care of the whole person, which to him means going beyond just that 30 minutes you workout together.  In order to really achieve your goals, things need to be IN sync with each other.  That means staying hydrated, working out, eating enough protein, or just walking a little bit more.  He focuses on all of these to really make sure you stay on the right track.

On thing he does is Reverse Dieting. Which is when they actual increase their clients calorie goals instead of decreasing it.
Eating too little is detrimental to our goals because we trick our brain to not thinking there is enough food around.  This causes us to actually start burning muscle and end up looking skinny fat.  It is imperative that we focus on eating enough food especially protein so we can maintain lean muscle mass and really hit our target.

Another concept we touched is treating instead of cheating.  Cheating is too negative and makes us feeling like we are doing something wrong.  So instead if we focused on cheating, we should change it to treating, which implies that we deserve that treat because we hit all our other goals for that month.

Fit Body Bootcamp is a fun, energetic  way to get going!
As Mike said, "Just start and don't be afraid, we all start somewhere"
